Every year at the Japan Super Science Fair we try to offer participants a wide array of experiences, aiming to enhance and develop their scientific knowledge while also learning about both the culture of Japan and the cultures of our guests from around the world.
This event is a culture exchange festival with booths showcasing the various cultures represented by the participants of JSSF. There is something for everyone to enjoy, with the Ritsumeikan students introducing our guests to various forms of Japanese culture.
This is a chance to see a fascinating display of local culture from each of the participating schools. Participants can enjoy experiencing cultures from all around the world.
In this program, participants will explore several research projects and discuss how ideas taken from them can be applied beyond the laboratory to transform scientific research into solutions that create value for society.
Participants will visit different companies or universities around Kyoto. In addition to a tour of the company/university, the participants will also be able to hear from actual researchers.
Presenters talk about their research in front of their own posters and share their findings with the audience. This is a great opportunity for participants to ask questions and network.
Participants have a chance to meet each other before their departure to Japan. This gives us a chance to share important announcements and details and also gives participants a chance to meet their Japanese buddies prior to the event and ask questions.
Individual participants and groups will present their scientific research in English. We have had many interesting and enlightening presentations over the long history of JSSF.
Mr. Olive was a longtime regular host of a TV show in Hawaii called “Science is Fun!” He lecture is sure to bring you a taste of the fun of science.
Participants will be given groups and assigned tasks to complete over the course of JSSF while competing for the best scores. Outstanding teams present will present their results.
This is a chance to take part in a program highlighting developments in the world of science. There will be several exciting lectures to choose from.
Following the industrial tours, we will make time for participants to enjoy sightseeing in nearby Kyoto city with their new friends. Following the excursion, participants get a chance to go shopping and enjoy local cuisine.
We will have a special guest lecturer share their experience in their field to inspire participants and give them new knowledge to share with others.
