The Microsoft Word DOC below is only for schools requiring VISA applications to enter Japan. You should submit it while completing the main Google Form. You can confirm whether or not participants from your school will require a VISA by visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website.
Please let us know if we can have a participating educator from your school be a commentator at the Oral Research Project Presentation.
Oral Research Project Presentation Commentators:
Students will be delivering their research project presentations on the 2nd day. It is very meaningful for students to get feedback from experts in the field they have talked about. We would therefore like to ask participating teachers to volunteer to be commentators at one of the venues.
Please have each participant from your school (both educators and students) sign and complete the "Consent to Use of Images & Confirmation of Traveler's Insurance" downloadable PDF. After you have collected all of the forms for your school, please scan them and submit them in PDF format by completing the Google Form below.
We would greatly appreciate if you combined all the forms from your school into one PDF before submission.
Domestic schools (those based in Japan) can ignore the section labeled "Confirmation of Traveler's Insurance on the PDF form.
Please let us know if your school would like to present at either the cultural exchange event (cultural exchange booths) or the cultural presentations.
Culture Exchange Booths:
Schools that wish to participate will be given a booth to share the culture and lifestyle of their country. We look forward to having many schools sign up, as learning about each other's culture will help build a foundation for future cross-national cooperation. Students are encouraged but not required to bring traditional games, cultural items, and/or traditional costumes, etc. Please note, that you must prepare and bring any and all materials needed.
Cultural Presentation
We are also looking for approximately 5 schools to present a dance, song, or similar performance on stage. Presentations will be approximately 5 minutes in length. Please note that if there are too many applicants, we may not be able to have all the schools give a performance.
Please provide the following information about the oral presentation your school will give:
Name(s) of Presenter(s)
Presentation Title
Category of Research
Abstract (approximately 200 words)
Self-Introduction of the Presenters
Picture of the Presenters
The information provided should match the Registration Form (Form 1). If there are any changes, please indicate that at the end of the form.
We apologize for the delay in making this form available to participants. Please wait while we confirm events.
Participating schools will be responsible for organizing and financing their own flights to and from Kansai International Airport (KIX). Please share the details of your arrival and departure flights with us. If you have multiple groups travelling, please submit this form once for each group of travelers.
While arranging flights, please keep the following five points in mind, paying special attention to #3:
Please arrive on October 31st in Japan. If for certain circumstances you will arrive on a day other than October 31st, the transportation to the accommodation will be your responsibility.
Please depart on November 6th in Japan. If for certain circumstances you will depart on a day other than November 6th, the transportation to the airport will be your responsibility, except in the case of schools that have extended stays arranged by Ritsumeikan.
We ask that schools arrange for their flights to arrive and depart from Kansai International Airport. Kansai Airport is about two hours away from the accommodation. If you request assistance, we will arrange local transportation according to your arrival / departure time and for the arrival. Our staff will be waiting for you at the arrival gate of Kansai airport to pick up your group.
Due to new regulations regarding transport within Japan, please be aware of the following:
Schools arriving at Kansai International Airport (KIX) MUST schedule their arrival to be before 19:00 JST for us to provide transportation to the venue. Schools that arrive before October 31st (Friday) will be responsible for their own accommodation. We will arrange for transportation from KIX for these groups on November 1st.
Schools departing from Kansai International Airport (KIX) MUST schedule their departure to be at or after 10:00 AM JST on November 6th (Thursday) for us to provide transportation to the airport.
Schools arriving at other airports throughout Japan will need to obtain and finance their own transportation to the venue.
Groups arriving before October 31st or leaving after November 6th should make their own hotel arrangements for those dates.
