Nagaokakyo Campus (NKC)

There are approximately 1700 students from grade 7 to grade 12 studying at Ritsumeikan Junior & Senior High School. This campus was completed in September of 2014 and is equipped with the latest in ecosystem technology. It takes approximately 40 minutes by bus to commute from BKC.
Athletic facilities such as fields and gymnasiums have been designed to be as large as possible, providing facilities suitable for training the mind and body. There are six classroom units in total, three each in the north and south sections of the main building. This allows for convenient arrangement by academic years and courses. HR classrooms and teachers' rooms for primary and middle school students are located in the north units, and HR classrooms for high school students are located in the south units. Commonly used facilities such as the media center, laboratories, presentation room, halls, open atrium, and cafeteria have been placed near the center of the building, with each floor containing classroom units connected to these facilities to create a sense of academic unity throughout the school.
Osaka Ibaraki Campus (OIC)

The Osaka Ibaraki Campus (OIC) opened its doors in April 2015 and is RU’s newest campus. Located midway between Osaka City and Kyoto City, the campus is within walking distance of two train lines that provide easy access to both cities. The OIC is fully equipped with facilities that provide adaptable learning and exchange spaces. Among the OIC’s six colleges and seven graduate schools are the College of Policy Science and the College of Business Administration. It has a spacious Grand Hall, and parts of the campus are open to the surrounding community.
Dubbed Try Field, Ritsumeikan University opened a new building (Building H) in April 2024 to serve as a venue for generating bold, new endeavors by creating connections and collaborating with a diverse array of people working to create the society of the future and solve social issues. Upon its completion, the College and Graduate School of Image Arts and Science and the College and Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering were relocated to OIC.
Ritsumeikan is the first educational institution in Japan to establish a Microsoft Base on campus (in Building H). This facility integrates cutting-edge digital knowledge and academic activities to support the development of human resources for the digital transformation (DX) and the creation of startups, and through this and other initiatives, Ritsumeikan strives to create social impact and cultivate emerging talent.
Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC)

Established in April 1994, the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC) serves as a center of education and research that integrates the sciences with the humanities. The BKC community pursues cutting-edge scientific research alongside the creation of new industries through industry-government-academia collaboration and community involvement. The campus is located in the city of Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, and is surrounded by natural beauty with mountains to the west and Lake Biwa to the east. Six colleges and graduate schools are housed in BKC, among which are the College and Graduate School of Science and Engineering, the College and Graduate School of Life Sciences, and the College and Graduate of Economics.
Participants in the Japan Super Science Fair (JSSF) will be boarded at two locations at the BKC campus during your time with us in Japan: Epoch Ritsumei 21 and the BKC International House.
