Events

Participants have a chance to meet each other before their departure to Japan. This gives us a chance to share important announcements and details and also gives participants a chance to meet their Japanese buddies prior to the event and ask questions.

In the opening session, we have a special guest lecturer share their experience in their field to inspire participants and give them new knowledge to share with others.

Individual participants and groups will present their scientific research in English. We have had many interesting and enlightening presentations over the long history of JSSF.

Presenters talk about their research in front of their own posters and share their findings with the audience. This is a great opportunity for participants to ask questions and network.

This is a chance to take part in a program highlighting developments in the world of science. There will be several exciting lectures to choose from.

Participants work together in mixed groups to complete tasks in zones led by expert lecturers. Groups in each zone will hold a competition to see who has the best results.

Science Discussion

The Science Discussion event is a chance for students to share their ideas about a science related topic and create a poster to present their unique take on the topic.

Participants will be given groups and assigned tasks to complete over the course of JSSF while competing for the best scores. Outstanding teams present will present their results.

Participants will visit different companies or museums around Kyoto. In addition to a tour of the company/museum, the participants will also be able to hear from actual researchers.

Following the industrial tours, we make time for participants to enjoy sightseeing in nearby Kyoto city with their new friends. Following the excursion, participants get a chance to go shopping and enjoy local cuisine.

This event is a culture exchange festival with booths showcasing the various cultures represented by the participants of JSSF. There is something for everyone to enjoy, with the Ritsumeikan students introducing our guests to various forms of Japanese culture.

This is a chance to see a fascinating display of local culture from each of the participating schools. Participants can enjoy experiencing  cultures from all around the world.

The teachers' session will be an opportunity for educators to exchange their ideas for developing science education and professional development. This session is rewarding every year for all involved.
