Accommodation (2023)

The following were the accommodations for JSSF 2023.
The actual accommodations for JSSF 2024 may differ.

During JSSF student and teacher guests will be staying at either Epoch Ritsumei 21 or BKC International House. Both accommodations are located on the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC) of Ritsumeikan University. Transportation from BKC to Nagaokakyo Campus (NKC) takes approximately 40 minutes by bus.

Epoch Ritsumei 21 and BKC International House are not hotels. They are school facilities that are being lent to us. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate if all participants tidy their rooms as well as possible and adhere to the following guidance for their assigned accommodation. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

EPOCH Ritsumei 21

Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC)

1-1-1 Noji-higashi, Kusatsu, Shiga 525-8577

Epoch Ritsumei 21, which functions as a seminar house, sports house, and hall, aims to be a cutting-edge facility, helping to create a new era—epoch—for Ritsumeikan University and BKC in the 21st century. The facility incorporates student created concepts for the keyword EPOCH (Exchange, Personality, Oasis, Co-Learning, and Humanity), and strives to embody such concepts through both its name and operations.

Operating Hours

All facilities are locked from midnight until 7:00 a.m. Guests are unable to enter and leave the facility.

Key Regulations

Keys may not be taken outside of the building for any reason. When leaving the dormitory, please be sure to leave your keys at the reception desk. There will be someone at the reception desk receiving keys every morning. Failure to turn in your key in the morning may delay your buses departure, so please do not forget!

For Student Guests

Students will stay in rooms with between four to eight bunk beds or in Japanese style rooms with futons. All bedding will be provided. Put on and remove bedding yourself. Sheets will not be changed. When checking out, remove all the bedding (sheets, covers, and pillow cases), fold them up, and put them in front of the door inside of your room. When using a Japanese-style room, remove the sheets and covers, fold up the futons and place everything near the closet in the room.

There are communal showers / toilets. Amenity goods such as towels or toothbrushes are not provided. Please bring your own towels.

Eating and drinking are prohibited inside your room. Use the designated spaces on the 3rd or 4th floors.

For Teacher Guests

There are 2-person teacher rooms at EPOCH, but we may have to consider having some teachers share student rooms or Japanese-style tatami rooms with another teacher. In this case, the above student guidance for bedding applies.

We will prepare towels for the teachers, but we will not be able to provide fresh towels every day.

There may be some disparities in the accommodations, but we ask for your understanding and cooperation.
