Murata creates original products and contributes to the development of an electronics society through its proprietary and accumulated technological foundations in materials development, process development, product design, and production technology, as well as supporting software, analysis, and evaluation. On this tour, you will visit the Murata Innovation Museum, an education and training facility for Group employees established at the Nagaoka Plant (Nagaokakyo City, Kyoto Prefecture) in October of 2019. You will also be able to hear from one of the researchers at Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and get a guided tour of the museum.

Yushin Precision Equipment Co., Ltd.

Founded in Kyoto, Japan, Yushin Precision Equipment Co., Ltd. (YPE) is an industrial automation manufacturer specializing in take-out robots for plastic injection molding machines. We lead the world in take-out robot technology, and have built a reputation for delivering reliable and cost-effective leading innovative technologies to our customers. A focus on raising robot operational speeds enables customers to take productivity to higher levels, while features such as user-friendly control interfaces ease the robot operator's job-one embodiment of our "Heartful Technology". A collaboration with Kyoto University to apply design optimization methods to our products resulted in significant decreases in robot weight, allowing higher operational speeds or lower energy consumption, while advancing our drive to improve product eco-friendliness. In addition to the home market, our products are in demand in diverse world regions, including East, South and South-East Asia, Europe and North America. Enjoy the tour of our facilities for robot production and assembly.

SCREEN Holdings Co., Ltd.

SCREEN was founded in Kyoto in 1943. Since then, we have been conducting operations under our founder's motto of "Shi Kou Ten Kai (思考展開)" for 80 years. Our roots go back further to our predecessor, "Ishida Kyokuzan Printing Works" founded in 1868. Growing through the era of copperplate and lithographic printing, it became the first company in Japan to produce glass screens for photographic reproduction which enabled photographic printing. Thereafter, the glass screen division of the company became independent, and SCREEN was born. Since then, we have grown to one of the best manufacturers of graphic arts equipment in the world. Leveraging SCREEN group's core technologies to various areas, we have expanded our business into electronic devices, and then into manufacturing equipment of semiconductors and displays, and other important areas within the electronics industry. Furthermore, we are leveraging our core technologies to open up new business domains, such as energy, inspection and measurement, and life science. On your visit, you will see our products and technical presentations about graphic arts equipment, our business since our inception, and you will have a talk with our professionals as well.

New Japan Chemical Co. Ltd.

New Japan Chemical Co. Ltd., has continued to develop original technologies in the fields of oleochemistry and petrochemistry, including hydrogenation technology, since its establishment in 1919. Recently, our Kyoto R&D Center was established to strengthen R&D and technological capabilities for the next 100 years and to create new value through the promotion of open innovation. Our Center's concept is "Openness," "Fusion," and "Challenge.

Features are as follows:

We hope you will visit our center, which is designed to enhance research results while ensuring the safety and comfort of our researchers. We look forward to seeing you at our center. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes as you will be going up and down stairs.

Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR)

Our principle is “Together to the Top for Future Society” and conducting research and development for our future society, especially in the fields of computational neuroscience to develop novel Brain Machine Interfaces (BMI) inspired by our knowledge of brain functions, to form the basis for innovative technologies accessible to all; deep interaction science to deeply understand the interactions between humans, robots, and avatars for a harmonious and comfortable society where robots and avatars coexist with humans; wireless and communications to achieve wireless and communications as infrastructure enabling a comfortable and secure life and also to create advanced applications by use of radio waves from the user’s perspective; life science to decipher biological mechanisms of our nature by focusing on cross-talks among multiple organs to maintain homeostasis.

We also aim to contribute to innovation from science and technology and regional revitalization by promoting pioneering and innovative research and development, social implementation of world-class results, and building of a global innovation ecosystem through close collaboration with industry, government, and academia both domestically and internationally.

The Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE)

RITE was established in 1990 as a center of excellence which would work internationally for mitigating global warming for focusing on the following two measures:

RITE is addressing research and development of new technologies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in collaboration with industry, government, and academic institutions around the world.

We plan to give general introduction and research introduction from researchers. In addition to the lecture, students will be able to tour RITE’s Laboratory and observe the latest research equipment.

National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) - Universal Communication Research Institute (UCRI)

The Universal Communication Research Institute of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology is engaged in the construction of AI research infrastructure as well as the R&D and social implementation of three core technologies (multilingual communication technology, social knowledge communication technology, and smart data utilization platform technology) that utilize the infrastructure. We will introduce to you highly practical multilingual communication technologies, etc., that are being used in domestic transportation such as railways, shopping facilities, sightseeing spots, and medical sites.

University Farm, Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, Kyoto Prefectural University

Kyoto Prefectural University has two campuses. Our campus is located in Seika Town in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture and is surrounded by rich nature. There is a large field where grains, vegetables and fruits are grown, where cutting-edge research and student training are conducted. Fields and laboratories are adjacent to each other, allowing us to be directly linked to the field of crop growth and molecular biology. Adjacent to the Kyoto Prefectural Agricultural Center, we are also conducting research on agricultural issues in Kyoto Prefecture. We plan to give lectures by two university professors and take a walk in our large field.
